​Basic Life and AD&D Insurance

Saint Joseph’s University provides you with Life and AD&D Insurance. The University pays for the full cost of this benefit, with coverage effective on the first day of the month after 90 days of hire. You must be actively at work for your life insurance coverage to become effective.

The benefit amount for this coverage is 2.5 times your annual salary (rounded to the next higher multiple of 1,000) up to plan maximums. At age 70, the benefit reduces to 65%, and at 71 or older, the benefit reduces to 45%.
Note: Life insurance above $50,000 will be considered taxable imputed income.

Saint Joseph’s University’s disability benefits through Unum can help ensure that you have money to pay for basic needs such as housing, utilities, food, transportation, childcare, and more if you become disabled form a non-work related injury or sickness.

Both Long-Term and Short-Term disability coverage is offered by the University.
